Together

Dancing with the feet is one thing, but
dancing with the heart is another.  ~Author Unknown

The waltz
developed in the 17th century as a Bavarian county folk dance before
it was rushed European ballrooms in the early 1800’s. The waltz is s gentle and
romantic dance with very soft and long sweeping movements. The waltz with its
swift turning figures and stylish poses is a dance that commands attention.
This widely desired dance consists of a forward or backward step, a side step,
and finally a step close the feet together. Each step is as confident and fluid
as the next.

This
dance of beauty, passion, and love,

Brought
us together as the olive and a dove.

We
glide amongst the brilliant and gallant,

Past
the lack luster and those without talent.

Through
many moons you and I have done this together,

No
doubt with poise and grace intertwined arms forever.

We’ve
done this dance many times before,

Same
sequence, various steps, and occasionally more.

Been
partners for years,

Unfortunately
our fears,

Came
true,

Our
steps, with no connect, became askew.

Countless
times, we tried to recover,

Sorry
to say, there was no saving one another.

Our
glides became shallow bone breaking strides and skips,

Overall
dysfunctional and irrational hips.

We
tried but failed the motion,

Our
success resembled a battleship in a river rather than a vibrant ocean.

Unable
to fight the tide and overhead waves,

Our
body yearns for this which it craves.

Adding
another partner would fix our ordeal,

Honestly,
it became worse and broke its appeal.

You
see, the waltz was only a two person dance,

No
practice, you won’t even give it a chance.

We
use to have such a unique connection,

From
the beginning, right at the inception.

No
longer has this love affair existed,

It
was gone with a flick of the wrist, I’ve been blacklisted.

I
wish we could prance along the ground forever,

But
sometimes the best aren’t meant together.

Searching
and finding a new partner soon,

This
love affair cannot be replicated under the luminous moon.

All
that can be done is hope and pray,

We’ll
dance that waltz again someday.
