I don’t want to ever get on here and start “RANTING” like
most people think bloggers do but I couldn’t help but fall into that realm of
skepticism for this thought that consumed me.

I was on facebook about an hour ago and came across a very
pregnant friend of mine. I somehow forgot how pregnant she was so I proceeded
to go through her pictures because, well, she was pregnant. I stopped at a
picture that she posted of herself showing off a brand spanking new tattoo that
she had gotten. I hate to be judgmental but that was one of the most
thoughtless tattoos that I have ever seen. I don’t even know what in the world
the tattoo said but it looked entirely too sloppy for it to be well thought
out.

LOOK! If you’re going to get a tattoo, PLEASEEE think about
it first. That “ink” that you so desperately NEED is not going to disappear
easily. It’s going to take numerous surgeries and it’s more painful than the
actual process of the tattoo.

I’m definitely not against tattoos. I think tattoos are an
airway that permits the inner soul and its desires access to run free and spill
out with pools of various strokes and styles. It gives those who aren’t
verbally elaborate the voice to speak through and from each crease of the dermis.

I have a tattoo and it didn’t take me years upon years of
thought to know what I wanted but it took me about three months.

1. [THE THOUGHT] - I had no idea what I wanted but I
knew I wanted a tattoo. I didn’t want one for anyone else but myself. No one
pressured me to get it. They were actually all surprised that I wanted one.

2. [THE PLAN] – I had to chart out what I wanted. I
knew with ever vein in my body a phrase of some sort would soot me. You know? Something
that would evoke an aesthetic response from me when I saw it. At first, I
figured I wanted a flower or an animal but it just seemed as cliché as getting
a heart, love symbol or tribal tattoo.

a. [LATIN] – was a subject that I have some slight
interest and they usually have unique phrases and slight proverbs in the word
play. There were numerous phrases that of course EVERYONE had but I found 1
that stuck out to me; the one tattoo that made me say, that’s the one.

3. [THE SELECTION] – The phrase just rolled off the
tongue with such finesse it was astounding. No other phrase made me feel
submerged in a freshly bloomed tulip with dew filled petals in the crisp dawn
air. It was the mightiest sense of beauty that I wish all could observe.
Greatness.

4. [THE FINISH] – It took me about a month to find
the tattoo and about two for the process of getting that tattoo to be complete.
And I am still happy about the results of where and what the tattoo is about.

Don’t just get some crap that you’re not going to take with
a thorough embrace. It’s only a mistake if you make it one.
