Patience is the support of weakness; impatience the ruin of
strength.

Charles Caleb Colton

Eager; Antsy; Anxious; Abrupt; Hasty; Gung ho

The similarities
between each of these terms boil down to one identical word…
IMPATIENT.

This flaw in the
personality can be generally caused by stress. People generally, on average,
know they suffer from this personality defect. Some may suffer from impatient
triggers which need to be controlled in order to contain their impatience. Being
able to learn what ones impatience triggers are and how to identify the proper signaling
when patience is diverting to impatience will gradually become steps toward treatment.

§ CAUSES

o  arrogance,
insensitivity, overbearing behaviors

§ SYMPTOMS

o  cutting
others off mid-sentence, make what appears to be uninformed – a quick judgment,
snapping back at others in response to a question or request

§ TREATMENT

o  REMOVE
ONESELF FROM THE SITUATION
.
If one can’t physically, emotionally remove oneself

§ Counting
[to ten] helps those that are confronted with a difficult decision

o  PRACTICE
ACTIVE LISTENING
. Allow
sufficient eye contact to give the person the attention they seek.

§ DO NOT
formulate your response before they have finished speaking.

o  SLOW
ONES REBUTTAL DOWN
. Speak in
a lower octave alongside speaking slowly. This will give you the appearance that
you seemingly have grown patience.

o  REWARD
ONESELF FOR THE PATIENT RESPONSE
.
One should identify the effort that was made when not overacting to that
particular situation and how good it felt to stay calm.

§ PROGNOSIS

o  Depending
on the severity, the full treatment may take 6+ months on average.

o  If
undergoing, chronic impatience, intense training and retraining maybe
necessary.

§ COMPLICATIONS

o  If not
treated properly, could lead to becoming a career stopper for major companies.
Those that suffer from this ailment are not considered for management or lead
in their industries.
