Obstruction

Anyone
can do any amount of work, provided it isn't the work he is supposed to be
doing at that moment.  ~Robert Benchley
Holidays are a quite joyous and
celebratory occasion. I mean, THINK ABOUT IT! There’s so much you can do during
holidays. For example, embracing those elongated awaited arms of your immediate
family. If not that, how about, indulging in mischief and deduced behavior with
close friends? Or how about emerging in the forefront of the dangerous and
possibly life threatening holiday shopping? Hmm, all those sound undeniably,
fun, BUT, alas professors in universities do not think so kindly to the holiday
season. You see these fowl creatures that inhabit the minds and eyes of its
prisoners decide that the holidays are not meant for pleasantry but anguish and
hostility. OH, the joys of the awaited break at the tips of its admirers proverbial
claws. Counting down the days reverts to counting down the hours. Minutes upon
minutes remaining, the anticipation is the best part.
. . . THAT’S WHEN IT
HIT!
Before running off to their long
awaited freedom, the teacher uniquely recalls a faint memory at that very
second before reaching what’s been sought after for so long. TEST NEXT WEDNESDAY after break. Test?
The idea of a test being issued out after break is shown on each pupils face as
disaster, devastation and angst. Those that continue to watch the creature for
any slight or sudden sense of a belated April fool’s joke see a slight grin on
the face of the creature as it turns waves and wishes all a pleasant break.
Filthy humor?
Foolishness?
Well that’s that was my first
thought when presented with that horrible distasteful humor. Lucky me, everyone
loves to bring books over the break. One student’s first thought was to slash
the creatures tires. I laughed but they were oh so serious; they gave me the
model, year and type of car.
All I really want to do is Eat,
Sleep, & Be Marry. That’s not too much to ask for is it? EXACTLY! Tell that
to my professor.
